TV TONIGHT: MID-FLIGHT MAYHEM IN NEW PLANE THRILLER RED EYE

Red Eye

9pm, ITV1

Poisoned plane food! Dodgy air hosts! Airport chases! Nervous flyers should steer clear of this thriller, which takes place on a flight from London to Beijing – with Dr Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage) being extradited by DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi) for a murder he denies committing. The plot thickens when, mid-flight, an event compels Hana to wonder if he’s telling the truth. Good, silly fun for anyone who enjoyed Hijack. Hollie Richardson

Mammals

7pm, BBC One

This week’s frigid adventure spans icy seas to snow-clad peaks, where despite the bone-chilling conditions (and, more ominously, warmer temperatures where there shouldn’t be), an array of mammals – from Alaskan wolverines to Yukon bears – are doing their best. It includes astonishing footage of a desperate polar bear catching reindeer; as hauntingly beautiful as it is ghastly. Ali Catterall

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer

8pm, Channel 4

There is little better than watching people tremulously take on three baking challenges from the comfort of your own sofa. How will Gemma Collins, AJ Odudu, Jessica Hynes and Tim Key fare in the big white tent? Who will secure that handshake? And why are they reliving their earliest childhood memories in choux? Kayleigh Dray

This Town

9pm, BBC One

Steven Knight’s story of a 1980s post-punk group, and how musical expression is both powered by and an antidote to personal and political strife, reaches the penultimate episode. It manages to keep making band decisions, such as auditioning a wild new drummer, as exciting as the grave peril of the IRA subplot. Jack Seale

60 Classical Years: BBC Two at 60

9pm, BBC Two

Whether BBC Two still has the budget to continue to showcase the nation’s best classical music concerts is doubtful, but for the past 60 years it has fulfilled that role with diligence. This clipfest celebration takes in performances orchestral and intimate, featuring composers including Verdi and Stravinsky, and players such as Jacqueline du Pré and Sheku Kanneh-Mason. JS

Ibiza: Secrets of the Party Island

9pm, BBC Three

Is the world’s most famous party island becoming too exclusive? Zara McDermott explores Ibiza’s increasingly expensive lifestyle, which is causing a wealth divide and squeezing out young clubbers. There’s a dark side, too, as lbiza’s crime rate increased yet again last year, including a hell of a lot of seized drugs. HR

Film choice

A Hidden Life, 12.50am, Channel 4

Terrence Malick brings his eye for a heartstopping image and love of an intimate gesture to bear on this tragic, true second world war tale. August Diehl plays Franz Jägerstätter, an Austrian farmer and committed Catholic who refused to swear allegiance to Hitler and so faced incarceration and execution. Valerie Pachner is his wife, Fani, and their bond is the emotional foundation for an interrogation (mostly through Malick’s trademark voiceovers) of religion, morality and community. Like Scorsese’s Silence, a profound exploration of what it is to be a martyr. Simon Wardell
